| Research Areas |
Dr. Zhang’s research is in the area of bioenvironmental engineering,
focusing on the immediate environment of living things, people, animal and plants. His
research topics include indoor air quality engineering and pollutant emission control
from building sources, indoor airflow measurement and modeling, thermochemical conversion
of biowaste materials into bioenergy.
Current projects include development of
volumetric particle tracking velocimetry (VPTV) technology for 3-dimensional measurement
of airflows in full-scale rooms, aerodynamic deduster technology for cleaning air, and
thermochemical conversion process (TCC) for converting animal manure and biowaste materials
