The National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety strives to enhance the health and safety of all children exposed to hazards associated with agricultural work and rural environments. The National Children's Center is a site of the Children's Safety Network. The National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety are working to assist parents in matching agricultural jobs to children’s development.   Annually, over 100 children are killed and 100,000 seriously injured because of incidents involving agricultural machinery, livestock, falls or other events. The North American Guidelines for Children’s Agricultural Tasks (NAGCAT) will give parents a resource to help match children’s abilities with agricultural job requirements.
The Rural & Farm Family Vocational Rehabilitation Program (RFFVRP), is a
Vermont statewide, cooperative program of the University of Vermont
Extension and the Vermont Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and has
been in existence since 1968.  RFFVRP's purpose is to work with members of rural and farm communities with a disability and  assist them to
successfully find or continue employment into jobs consistent with their
abilities and interests.
